To make sure about the proper quality of heat treted wood, it is importat that kiln operators and quality controll staff are trained and experiences enought to  inspect the raw material and final product, but also they need to be avare about the services and maintenance which the kiln needs.

Just for example these matter as sometimes reasons for some quality issues:

Over pressure valves are important for the safety and quality

QC1

Dirty or damaged moisture measurement wires from the operational kilns. Wood moisture content is measured by measuring the elecrirn resistance of the wood and temperature of the wood. If on on these measurements fails, example becouse of not elecric connections from the measuring cable to measuring pins/nails, the moisture content of wood can not be measured properly.

QC2

Sample of dirty and clean moiture pins/nail.

QC3

Quality control ongoing in the QC laboratory. QC staff not only need to measure the quality, but to know what to do if variations of the quality exists.

QC4

Proper sticking is important factor for the uniform quality.

Training days and programs can be arranged for new kiln operators but also for further educate currect kiln operators and quality control staff.
